Delicious Secrets of Nagasaki Jjamppong

Made with ingredients you can trust, enjoy authentic restaurant-grade jjamppong flavor easily and confidently at home.

  1. The garlic oil, made by carefully frying garlic, gives Nagasaki jjamppong its sweet and spicy flavor.
  2. The basic ingredients of jjamppong include shrimp, squid, mussels, and clams, providing a rich seafood flavor.
  3. Nagasaki jjamppong experts add minced pork cooked in the broth for a deeper, richer taste.

Nagasaki Jjamppong Secret Recipe for Easy Cooking

Step 1: Prepare Ingredients

Use about 180g of squid, 200g of frozen clams (about 20 pieces), 90g of oysters, 4g of cooking oil, 5g of garlic (1 clove), 9g of dried anchovy, 2g of chili pepper, and 750g of water.

You can substitute frozen clams with fresh clams if preferred, and using anchovies enhances flavor.

Peeling the squid helps the broth absorb better, enriching the Nagasaki jjamppong taste.

Using about 300g of frozen mixed seafood makes preparation easier without additional defrosting.

Step 2: Fry Ingredients in Oil

Heat cooking oil in a pan, stir-fry garlic, onion, and onion shells for about 2 minutes over medium heat.

Be careful to avoid burning the garlic. Adjust the heat if needed.

Step 3: Add Water and Boil

Add about 900ml of water and 60g of Nagasaki jjamppong powder, then boil for about 3 minutes.

Step 4: Add Broth and Boil

Add 90g of dried anchovy and Nagasaki jjamppong powder again, boil for another 1 minute.

Follow proper cooking time for best flavor.

Step 5: Nagasaki Jjamppong Completion

Enjoy your Nagasaki jjamppong by adding boiled noodles separately to the broth.

For a stronger flavor, add chili powder to taste.
